This case is from a short time period immediately following the BLACK BOX era. S&W used a 2 sided "Clam Shell" Styrofoam insert with a superficial flocking that tended to deteriorate with time. Styrofoam was easily damaged with routine use and shifting of gun.

This can be easily re-flocked with materials from hobby store or it can be re-lined with a REMOVABLE satin royal blue cloth. This is a 35-40+ year old original S&W manufactured box and is NOT one of the cheap knock offs coming out of TN!
